Content-based image retrieval systems

• GIFT (the GNU Image-Finding Tool) - Content Based Image Retrieval System (CBIRS). It took a far more complicated approach, using a set of about 80,000 possible image features based on colour and textures at different scales and a hierarchical decomposition of the image. I haven't found any updated and working client for it yet.
• kmrml - Konqueror frontend to GIFT
• Eikon - Java implementation of the same Wavelet algorithms used on imgSeek
• Viper project - Viper stands for Visual Information Processing for Enhanced Retrieval. This project is about Content-based Image Retrieval (CBIR) and, more generally Content-based Multimedia Retrieval.

Photo

• Jpegpixi - "Jpegpixi" is short for "JPEG pixel interpolator". The intent of the program is to interpolate pixels in JFIF images (commonly referred to as "JPEG images"). This is useful to correct images from a digital camera with CCD defects. For example, if one pixel is always bright green, this pixel can be interpolated away with jpegpixi.

• VideoQuery - An application for automatic scene detection and querying of video files. It is the project I was working on before imgSeek. I have future plans on integrating it to imgSeek.
• The Digital Video Library System - Prototypical digital video library system (client-server) called VISION (Video Indexing for SearchIng Over Networks. VISION can digitize, compress, store, index, search, and retrieve video, audio, and closed-caption information.)
